The League Management Company (LMC) has halted the re-admission of Nembe City into the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season.
Nembe City are expected to host newly promoted side, FC Taraba in rescheduled match day 4 encounter yesterday at their chosen home ground, Kris Dera Stadium, Omoku, Port Harcourt.
The encounter which would have marked an end to the LMC and Nembe City cat and mouse-like game will no longer hold as scheduled on the instant of the league management body.
The Jalingo-based side was told not to travel for the game as LMC has once again faulted Nembe City on a number of issues namely failure to regularise players medical certificate, non-certification of the proposed home ground, among others.
Nembe City head coach, Gabriel Samuel Umunna who appeared to have foreseen the unfolding drama has enthused the side’s preparedness to host FC Taraba in match day 4 encounters in Omoku.
“LMC has not even visited the pitch for inspection after we sent the proposal last week Thursday rather we’re hearing unconfirmed though that LMC wants us to move to Sapele Township Stadium.
“LMC is merely personalising the Nembe City issue or put differently, they’re victimising our chairman, Victor Rumson Baribote.
“LMC has been tossing us up and down over the players’ medical certificate, that’s not fear Nembe City should be allowed to compete in the league,” said the former Sharks assistant coach.
