It was gathered that as soon as she arrived the accreditation centre and discovered that the list was not the one submitted by her factional group, she seized the delegates list and tore it. The minister also seized the delegates’ tags, before the security agents intervened to restore normalcy. Following this fracas, the exercise was scuttled and the delegates dispersed. Many party members expressed disgust at development saying that it represents a very bad image for the state. Earlier the Taraba State APC unity group has rejected the delegates list for party national convention, insisting that no delegates from the state should be allowed to vote during the convention. In a statement, Spokesman for the group, Aaron Artimas, maintained that apart from the fact that the list was singlehandedly selected by Senator Jummai Alhassan group; the issues concerning the congresses in the state were yet to be resolved. The Unity group insisted that allowing purportedly elected delegates to participate in the convention amounts to conferring legitimacy to party officials whose election was still in contention. “As far as we I am concerned, there are no legitimately elected party officials from Taraba State, except the issues were resolved.” The Taraba APC Unity group further insisted that only statutory delegates should vote at the convention to avoid soiling the whole process just to serve selfish interest. “As loyal and committed party faithful, we are hopeful that the incoming leadership of the party would resolve the intractable APC problem in Taraba State.”READ MORE Concerned Attorneys cry out over non - payment of judgement debts by FG Peoples Daily Share This Previous ArticleNCAA to doubting Thomases: Our figures are verifiable Next Article2019: I won’t quit PDP, with or without presidential ticket - Atiku June 25, 2018
