The National Orientation Agency (NOA), has urged delegates to the national conference to consider national interest and use the platform to foster peace and unity of the nation.
Mr Mike Omeri, the Director General of the agency said this in a statement signed and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Abuja.
Omeri advised the delegates to seize the opportunity to serve the country diligently and rise above personal interest and other pecuniary gain.
The NOA boss said that the appeal became necessary as delegates converge for the national conference with participants drawn from all states of the federation.
The delegates include professional bodies, academia, civil society and other stakeholders to chart a new course and address issues of national importance.
Omeri thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for backing the conference, while urging that the platform be made a veritable avenue for promotion of national interest over personal interest.
He added that Nigeria would witness a better outcome from the exercise.
Omeri said that the country needed to engage in dialogue for better coexistence, attainment of everlasting peace among others.
