The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Niger State has commenced the training of 600 unemployed youths comprising males and females in both B-NOAS and A-NOAS schemes of the directorate.
Director General of NDE, Dr Nasir Mohammed Ladan disclosed yesterday at the opening ceremony in Minna saying a that its aimed at creating employment and to be self reliance.
Ladan who was represented by Mrs Jamila Suleiman stated that this will spring up small scale industries in Nigeria as the programme is ongoing simultaneously across the country.
He noted that Small Scale Industry is the bedrock of development in the country hence the participants to use the opportunity for the training as they were lucky to be beneficiaries.
State Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulmalik Liman Abubakar said that the Basic National Open Apprentice (B-NOAS) and Advance National Open Apprentice (A-NOAS) cut across the three geo-political with its centres at Suleja, Bida, Kontagora and Minna respectively.
Abubakar explained that the training will last for three months adding that the training is on fashion design, catering, bag making, computer operations, Bari dressing and alluminium fabrication.
He stated that the serious minded trainees who performed well with excellent performance will be granted CBN loan to be able set up their
own businesses .thought not automatic
A graduated trainee Amos Sunday in an interview revealed that he is
now a trainer in alluminium fabrication and sales alluminium
accessories thence his proceeds has been used to established a
restaurant for his wife however appreciated the kind gesture from NDE.
