The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has urged his main opponent, Alhaji Mohammed Umar Nasko of the PDP alongside other gubernatorial candidates to join hands with him in moving Niger State to the next level.
Appreciating the APC campaign team, he said “indeed I am humbled and profoundly grateful to all Nigerlites, particularly the DG and all members of the Gubernatorial Campaign Council, the State APC Party Chairman and all other state, zonal and LGA executives, as well as other various Support Groups”.
Gov Bello urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters to exult in victory with moderation, noting that he will formally unveil his renewed directions of the state soon.
The governor made the disclosure in his speech yesterday in Minna at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presentation of certificates to elected candidates in the 2019 gubernatorial and state
house of assembly elections in Niger state.
He thanked all Nigerlites for the resounding support that led to his victory at the polls in the just concluded general elections.
He was thankful to all those who contributed to the logistical expenditures of the campaign, thousands of volunteers, agents, and sentries who sacrificed so much of their time and resources to ensure the success of the March 9th gubernatorial and state assembly elections in Niger state.
Governor Bello congratulated INEC for living up to the expectations of Nigerians thereby keeping alive Nigeria’s hoping for a brighter democracy.
while commending the security agencies for handling the difficult task of securing the personnel and materials during the election period.
National Commissioner of INEC, Professor Antonia has urged candidates and political parties who are aggrieved to seek for judicial system in addressing their problems in connection with the election rather than self help of violence.
She advised the state government and elected candidates to provide more dividends of democracy to the electorates who gave them the mandate to lead them do as to gain from their choice at polls.
In his remarks, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Sam Egwu said that Nigerian democracy has shown maturity and consolidation while he pleaded to the citizens to eschewed bitterness, violence during elections by embracing peace and peaceful conducts at polls.
Prof. Egwu commended the state government, security and NYSC the entire state for their examplary conducts before, during and after elections.
