From Yakubu Mustapha Minna
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has threatened to arrest and decisively deal with youths and their parents who involved themselves in an alleged planned protest in Lapai local government of the state.
The governor handed down the warning during his condolence visit to the Emir of Lapai, Alhaji Umar Bago Tafida over the death of his brother in his palace.
He warned the Emir and his subjects to desist from the alleged planned protest meant to register their dismay over the establishment of Shiroro Hotel.
Governor Bago who described those youths as ‘small ants’ warned them to desist from the alleged protest.
He threatened the Emirate youths who were allegedly planning to protest against the present APC led administration of governor Mohammed Umar Bago for locating the teaching hospital in Minna instead of the provided land allocated for the purpose at the University premises over the years ago.
Responding in an interview in Minna, many residents have condemned the threat statement from the Niger state governor, describing it as very unfortunate and disrespectful to the Emir and the entire Emirate.
