Niger state government has uncovered 22 illegal and unlicensed Colleges of Health Technology operating in the state
out of the 56 of such schools existing in 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
The Commissioner Of Tertiary Education Abdullahi Adamu Mammagi stated this while addressing newsmen on the outcome of their state Executive Council meeting in Minna.
Mammagi explained that at the moment, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has set up a taskforce to review such accreditation, saying that the number of quack schools kept increasing but after their work, they will know the actual number of those that are both genuine and quacks.
Commissioner Lands and Survey Mr Maurice Magaji said Niger state government has approved the relocation of Government Secondary School Kagara which is a boarding school from Rafi Local Government Area to Minna the state capital due to insecurity.
Also, the Niger State Commissioner of Information and Strategy Hajiya Binta Mamman in her contribution explained that relocation of the school by the state government is not in any way surrendering to bandits as it is not resting in it’s oars in proteccting lives and properties of Nigerlites.
