The people of Niger State have been advised to embrace child spacing so as to leave a better life and ensure good health of their families for the overall development of the society.
Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Idris gave the charge yesterday at a 3-Day Training of Media Personal on Media Advocacy for Family Planning in Niger State by TCI/The Challenge Initiative held in Minna.
He reiterated the determination of the state government in supporting family planning related issues to bring to the appreciable level the maternal and maternity rates in the state and nation, while charging the participants to pa much attention to every aspect of the training.
In his presentation, the facilitator, Mr. Onche Odeh discussed on the need for child spacing and family planning for better healthcare, education for all.
He said that Nigeria is witnessing population explosion with high rate of population leading to the current insecurity while blaming governments and citizens for not playing their parts well in providing the necessities of live to the society.
He further challenged the media to be up doing in passing out accurate information, enlightened the populace on the benefits, its methods, where to get the services, dispel the misconception and rumors of accepting family planning aimed at ensuring developmental journalism.
