In its effort to ensure the good welfare of Army personnel, the Nigerian Army during the weekend said it had since began the necessary arrangements to providing good welfare to its personnel which would serve as assistance to the families of retired army and those of who had lost their lives in the course of duty.
The disclosure was made over the weekend in Jos during the 2014 first quarter board of directors meeting held at the 3rd Armored Division by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Army Welfare Insurance Scheme(NAWIS), Major General Bitrus Kwaji, who made the commitment during the 2014 first quarter board of directors meeting held at the 3rd Armored Division, Jos said the Army places the welfare of its personnel as a top priority.
Kwaji said that “the Army is currently giving priority to welfare of its personnel and the present leadership of the Army is committed to enhancing the existing welfare arrangements that will serve as succor to the families of the deceased NA personnel including those retired.”
In his remark also , the Managing Director of NAWIS Colonel Samson Jiye told members at the meeting that the board had made all efforts to ensuring that all entitlements were swiftly paid to beneficiaries of the scheme, emphasizing that the scheme had already agreed on the monthly payments to the families of said affected.
