The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) yesterday licensed 35 Private Guard Security Companies.
Speaking while issuing licenses to the operators and representatives of the companies, Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin charged them to help stem the waves of criminality in the country.
“The licenses are not for child’s play. You are given the licence because you meet up with the requirement of the law. And as such, we expect you to contribute your quota in ensuring a crime free society”.
He urged them to be professional in discharging their duties, saying that the security situation in the country require intelligence gathering and inter agency collaboration.
The NSCDC boss also called on them to shun corruption and ensure prompt payment of their workers.
He charged the recipients to always start the process of renewing their licences three months before its expiration Responding on behalf of the owners of the companies, Sanya Oshijo, promised that the operators will work in line with lay down rules and regulation in the fight against criminality in the country.
