The chairman of the Bauchi state council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Alhaji Dahiru Garba Mohammed has expressed appreciation to the North East Youth Initiative forum (NEYIF) for recognising the efforts of one of his members Najib Sani and finding him worthy to be awarded as peace Ambassador.
Dahiru, who was speaking during the civic reception organised by a Non-Governmental Organisation in the state ‘Action Group For Youth and Child Development (AGYCD), to celebrate with the Blueprint journalist asserted that the conferment of the award on Najib did not come to him as a surprise considering the role he plays in peace promotion through his reportage.
Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary-General of the AGYCD, Comrade Ibrahim Suleiman explained that the reception was organised to honour Najib Sani, who is also the President of the group.
In his remarks, the Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi state command DSP Haruna Mohammed, who congratulated Najib on the award, urged journalists to help government and security agents in the country to fight crimes as well as address the present crises in parts of the nation when writing their news stories, articles and features on security matters.
