Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has identified the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a veritable tool for national cohesion ,development that prepare youths for future leadership
Abubakar stated this yesterday at the swearing in ceremony of the 1725, Batch B 2018 Stream II joint orientation course for Corps members deployed to Bauchi and Gombe states held at Wailo Camp, Ganjuwa local Government Area, of Bauchi State.
Represented by the state Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Liman Bello, Governor Abubakar said in its over 45 years of existence, the scheme has remained an instrument for monitoring the youth and preparing them for future leadership roles.
He said “As leaders of tomorrow, you must be knowledgeable and well-grounded in all aspects of our National life. To achieve this, the orientation program is carefully fashioned to bring you in close contact with your fellow compatriots from different parts of the country and expose you to the culture and traditions of your host communities of service.
“ This no doubt will strengthen and boost your innate sense of patriotism, the result of which will translate to higher quality future leadership that will ensconce our nation on a higher pedestal among the comity of nations “, he said.
