A lawmaker, Mr Babatunde Edunjobi, has urged stakeholders in the emergency management sector to support the state government in providing succour for victims of natural disasters.
Edunjobi, the member representing Yewa South Constituency in the Ogun House of Assembly, made the call yesterday in Abeokuta during plenary.
He said Monday’s rainstorm, which ravaged some communities at Idogo, Ipaja and Ipake in Yewa South Local Government, led to destruction of properties worth millions of naira.
The lawmaker commended the state government for its prompt response in providing immediate relief to victims.
Responding, the Speaker, Mr Suraj Adekunbi, commiserated with the victims over the incident, saying government would continue to assist them. (NAN)
