The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, has defected to the Labour Party (LP).
His membership in the LP will enable him contest the July 16 gubernatorial election in the state if given the mandate by the party.
Recall that the former Deputy Speaker recently resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Prior to his dumping the APC, he contested the party’s gubernatorial primary election but lost when he came to a distant third position behind Moshood Adeoti and the eventual winner and Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola.
Lasun had submitted his resignation letter on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Osun APC Secretariat in Osogbo.
