The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has set a minimum of one million new members in Edo State electronic registration.
It assured of digitizing its membership through the aid of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) data base.
Kabiru Adjoto, the state chairman of the e-registration Committee disclosed this at the flag-off of the party’s e-registration exercise in Benin City.
Adjoto, a former speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, assured that all modalities have been put in place to ensure it is all-inclusive to various party members and intending members.
“The party’s technical committee has taken into cognizance the low technological penetration in most areas across the country; hence the importance of the field registration which will be coordinated by trained party agents in the 192 wards that make up Edo State,” Adjoto said.
He said the state e-registration Committee and the leadership of the party have put all mechanisms in place for the training of agents who will be deployed to the various Wards across the State.
He added: “The first phase of the training will commence in Edo South senatorial district at Imaguero College on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 while Edo Central senatorial district exercise will hold at Esan West Council hall the following day.
According to him, the last phase of the training will be in Edo North at DSP event Centre, Jattu-Uzairue on Thursday”.
