Niger state Police operatives attached to Maitumbi Division have arrested a suspected fake soldier, 24 year old Emmanuel Dominic of Tunga area, Minna.
This was contained in a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu A. Abiodun, who disclosed that the suspect claimed that the uniform in his possession belonged to his late father whom he said was a soldier.
The suspect who dressed in Nigerian Army camouflage, went to the Police Division and paraded himself as a soldier of Nigerian Army with service no. 05313 attached to TRADOC, Minna to secure the release of his friend in Police custody.
During interrogation, the suspect was discovered to be a fake soldier and subsequently arrested.
He confessed that he had been a barrack boy of Army Barrack Minna.
He is equally suspected to have been robbing victims in Minna and environs with a wooden carved gun, jackknife and axe.
