From Edwin Olofu, Kano
Kano State governorship candidate under the platform of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Malam Salihu Sagir Takai has called on Nigerians especially Kano citizens to come out en masses to cast their votes for President Muhammad Buhari during the rescheduled national elections slated for Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Takai who made the appeal in a statement issued by his
spokesperson, Auwalu Mu’azu in Kano said the call became inoperative in view of apparent anger, frustration, shock and disbelief expressed by Nigerians at the sudden postponement of the 2019 elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) few hours to the commencement of Presidential and National Assembly elections last Saturday.
He noted that except well-meaning Nigerians across all walks of life such as political, traditional and religious leaders rise to the
occasion and mobilise voters to participate in the rescheduled
elections, the exercise may be marred by voter apathy.
The Kano PRP governorship flag bearer maintained that “In the light of the seeming disappointment of Nigerians at the polls shift, it has become necessary for all of us to work assiduously towards making sure that we encourage the electorates to come out in their numbers and take part in the coming Saturday rescheduled elections.”
