Abuja residents have been called on the citizenry to use religion as a vehicle for promoting unity and harmonious coexistence, in order to engender the development of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nigeria at large.
This call was made by the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello while addressing the Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) group at Life Camp, recently.
According to a statement signed by Special Assistant on Media to FCT Minister, Mallam Abubakar Sani said Mallam Bello spoke through the Sarki of Jiwa Chiefdom, Alhaji Idris Musa represented him at the occasion.
The Minister notes that using “our religious affiliations to encourage disunity will not augur well for the peace and progress of our beloved country.
“God created us with diverse religious and ethnic background in order for us to co-exist harmoniously in diversity.”
He therefore commended the JIBWIS Islamic group for making very wise investments not just for the adherents of the Islamic faith but for humanity in general.
He added that the faith based organization has added value to the hospitality industry in the nation’s capital.
