From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi
The National Chairman Jama’atu Izalatil Bid ’a Wa’ Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) , Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, has called on Nigerians to see security as a collective responsibility of all, just as he charged leaders to be fair and just while carrying out their responsibilities.
Bala Lau made the call when he led a delegation to commiserate with the FCT Minster, Bala Mohammed, over the death of his mother, Hajiya A’ishatu Mohammed, at the weekend, in Bauchi
“As we all know, a major challenge in this country today, as in other parts of the world, is the issue of security and emerging trends of terrorism; we have to go back to our creator, Almighty Allah and seek for his assistance over the insecurity in our country.
“Security, being the bedrock of every meaningful development, must always be of interest to all citizens; no amount of force will correct our ills until we repent and pray fervently before we see the light of whatever we do“.
As leaders, we owe Nigeria a sacred duty to seek peace and protect our collective interest, no matter our callings.
According to him, leadership is all about fear of Allah and demonstration of values of courage, knowledge, wisdom, patience, compassion, understanding, integrity, discipline and vision by ideas and an objective mind.
“It is my humble belief that good leadership and fear of God the creator, at all levels, is the pillar upon which our collective aspirations rest”, he stated.
The JIBWIS leader, while expressing his profound sympathy and that of his family to the FCT minister’s family, prayed that the soul of the decease have eternal rest and wished her Aljanatul Firdausi Lau also prayed to Allah to give him the strength to bear the loss and urged the senator and the entire family to take heart and stay focused in the discharge of his responsibilities It could be that the minister’s mother, A’ishatu Mohammed died on May 7, after a protracted illness and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
