The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintir has charged the 21 newly elected local government area chairmen to harp on projects that have direct bearing on their people.
Governor Fintiri gave the charge in Yola Monday at the official swearing ceremony of the elected chairmen, warning them that his government as well as their party,the PDP will not cordon corrupt practices in the cause of governance.
Governor Fintiri adviced them to carry their people along so that they can accord a say in governance noting that his style of governance is all inclusive from the grass root.
He commended the state electoral umpire for a job well done, noting that despite the little hitches recorded, the election was the best ever in the state.
Responding on behalf of the elected chairmen, chairman of Michika Local Government Area, Michael Shehu pledged to uphold the interests of their people.
He also promised to work hand-in-hand with the state government to ensure the entrenchment of dividends of democracy in their various local governments.
