The wife of the governor of Kaduna state, Hajiya Fatima Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has called on all aggrieved persons, groups, and communities in the country to stop the killing of innocent soul and give peace a chance.
The first lady, in statement issued by her Press Secretary, Aisha Sani Junaid, condemned in the strongest terms the consistent attacks on the lives and properties of innocent Nigerians by insurgents.
“Women and children have been at the receiving end of insensitive and inhuman maiming and killings. They have become victims in the hands of their own children; these irrational and insensitive acts can only be perpetrated by people who are blinded by hatred and who are after the disintegration of our great country, Nigeria.” Mrs. Yero lamented.
Hajiya Fatima reiterated that acts of this nature are perpetrated by minute groups who have their own notion of what a particular religion is (in the case of Boko Haram: Islam) or what agitations are: how they perceive it and practice it.
She therefore sympathized first, with wives of all state governors who have witness these constant attacks on their women and children and said she also feels greatly for Nigerian mothers who bear the brunt of these callous attacks.
“The abduction of over two hundred (200) secondary school girls in Chibok is most disheartening, and most terrifying is the uncertainty of the fate of these girls.”, she added.
The wife of the governor commended the spirit with which Nigerians have come together with one voice to plead for the release of these innocent girls, saying she is proud that Nigerians see these threats as national.
She pleaded, as a mother and a daughter to those who are responsible, to please see reason and stop the massacre of innocent Nigerians and to likewise release all those held in captivity.
“I beseech Allah to give the families of those who lost their lives the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and also ask that peace reigns in our hearts, homes, communities and our dear country Nigeria”, said Mrs. Yero.
