Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has revealed his intention to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge after the club advanced to the Champions League semi-finals.
Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain and has helped the club’s youngsters at the back. The Brazilian played 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to FC Porto but his side advanced on away goal rule.
Despite struggling in his few first months with injuries, Silva seems to be enjoying his time since Thomas Tuchel took over.
“I hope to continue like this,” the 36-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
“I want to continue to play at this level and get to the World Cup in 2022. Thomas Tuchel is doing an amazing job here at Chelsea.”
The Blues have an option to automatically trigger a one-year extension to his contract.
