As hostilities resume in the leagues across the country following the suspension of strike by the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) last week, all eyes would be in Ibadan where Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan hosts Gabros of Nnewi in a top of the table encounter. The two clubs occupy the first and second spot of the table with 41 points each with Shooting on top by virtue of superior goal difference. In a telephone chat with our correspondent, 3SC media officer, Jubril Arowolo said everything is set to make sure that his team picks the maximum three points against their host on Wednesday at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. “We know the importance of this game to our promotion. The players are ready to give their all in the game and with determination and hardwork on their part; victory is going to be ours. Remember we have occupied the top spot since the commencement of the league and this is not the time for us to allow complacency set in, we need to maintain the standard, “he said. In his own words too, Gabros coordinator, Olisa Onuchukwu said he believes in the ability of his players to give 3SC a good fight saying “I repose a lot of confidence in the current Gabros team. We have a very formidable team as evidenced through our position since the league started in spite of our lean financial stand,” he said. Onuchukwu therefore calls for fair officiating saying only dubious home officiating can make them lose in Ibadan against 3SC. Only the top two teams in the group will gain promotion to the premier league next season.
