Traditional rulers across the country under the aegis of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, [NCTRN] would be brainstorming on the lingering insecurity and political intolerance in the country at their 7th General Assembly next week in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The General Assembly would be chaired by His Emininence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto and His Imperial Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Ooni of Ife.
The meeting would be attended by the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, who had accepted to be the special guest of honour while the speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Aminu Tambuwal who was the Guest Speaker would declare the event open as the Akwa Ibom state governor plays host.
In a release issued by the chairman, coodinating committee, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe, the council stated that “The general assembly is aimed at brining together traditional rulers from all works of life in all the states of the federation to brainstorm on how to effectively harness the natural mandate of the traditional rulers, with special emphasis on issues related to intra and inter communal harmony, security, religious and political intolerance.
