Vice President Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo, was yesterday at the Palace of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III to condole with him over the death of his elder brother and the Ciroman Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Mai-Wurno, who died last Tuesday at the age of 72.
According to a press statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant, media and publicity to the vice president, Umar Sani, the vice-president, who condoled the Sultan on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, the Federal Government, and the entire good people of Nigeria also offered condolences to the late Ciroma’s family, the Sultanate Council, and to the government and the good people of Sokoto state.
He said, “I am here on behalf of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Federal Government and the entire citizens of this country to extend our sincere condolences on the loss of our brother Ciroman Sokoto. We pray that those that he had left behind, Almighty Allah will continue to bless them.” He described the late Ciroma as a highly respected personality, who had dedicated his entire life to the service of the people.
Sambo prayed Almighty Allah to grant the soul of the late Ciroma Aljannah Firdausi.
In his response, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, speaking on behalf of the entire family and the citizens of Sokoto State thanked President Jonathan and the good people of Nigeria for their condolences.
