One of the elders of the organization, Alhaji Saleh Jauro, made the declaration yesterday while speaking with journalist during the opening ceremony of the campaign office in Damaturu, the state capital. He stated that the decision taken by the governor is a display of injustice to other zones in the state whose right it is now to produce the governor for the state according to the political zoning formula of the party. “Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, the minister, the national secretary of APC, even the ambassador seat for Yobe was allocation to zone A, and the former Governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who ruled Yobe for 10 years are all from the same zone A, and for this reason, Gaidam has not shown justice and fair play to others in zone B and zone C,” he stated, adding that people from these two zones have been following the governor with unalloyed loyalty that they are supposed to be given consideration. He said zone B is insisting that their right of full tenure-ship in governance, in respect of their son, late governor Mamman Ali, who ruled the state for only 18 months, when Ibrahim Gaidam was the deputy governor, be returned to the zone to complete its turn in the rotational structure of state governance. He pointed out that there is no zone in the state where the opposition party has strength than in zone B, yet the zone has produced members of the Senate, House of Representative and State Assembly, pointing out that, zoning the governorship to the zone would give the party the strength to crush out the opposition party once and for all. “Zoning governorship to zone B will give us the strength to crush PDP and then have rest, and we are not nursing any ambition of defecting to any other party,” Jauro stated. “Zone B and C are united to fight the election battle because we have been discriminated and we will join forces to regain our position so that, after zone B have completed its turn, then Zone C will be given its turn, thus completing the rotation formula in the state,” he added.READ MORE Promoting credible elections via parties internal democracy Peoples Daily Share This Previous ArticleGov Gaidam challenges opponents to direct primaries Next ArticleMarshall Harry’s son joins Reps race, says Rivers not PDP stronghold September 11, 2018
