The World Health Organisation (WHO) Zonal Coordinator for North Central, Mr. Fadindin Mani has commended the Niger state government for partnering with the organisation on three strategic vaccination against polio and other child killer diseases.
Mani disclosed this during the launch of the strategic vaccination exercise in Lapai; headquarters of Lapai local government area of the state, saying the strategic vaccination include fix post, house to house and special team’s modes.
He said, “The fix post teams are stationed in health facilities conducting routine immunisation and delivering oral polio, DPT and other routine immunisation vaccines to eligible children.
He assured parents that polio vaccines are safe and effective against polio scourge and as such, they should endeavour to present their wards to health officials for vaccination during the exercise or during visit to health facilities.
Gov Babangida Aliyu of Niger state said that his government is committed to ensuring that every child is immunized against all vaccine preventable diseases and shall continue to cooperate maximally with all stakeholders in the collaborative endeavour.
