The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Yobe state, Dr. Muhammed Sani Idriss, has commissioned eight (8) newly established Government Girls Day Senior Secondary Schools across the state as part of commitment to promote girl child education.
While performing the symbolic commissioning of the new schools at Government Girls’ Day Science and Technical College, Gashua on reiterates for more investments by the Buni administration in girl-child education.
According to him there is no reason why education shouldn’t be given the priority attention it deserves by the Buni administration because of its important as the bedrock of all development. That is why Gov. Buni declared a state of emergency on the education sector on day one. That is why girl child-education is important to us.Without girl-child education, our society cannot thrive”.
While thanking the people of Gashua for their warm reception, he said he is genuinely pleased to be part of this historic development which will go along way to reduce out of school children and ensuring all round girl-child education in the state.
“I am particularly pleased that I am here for the commissioning of a girl’s school which Gov. Buni promised to give education. I know how important it is to see our girls educated and become productive. That they receive a minimum of 12 years of quality education.
“When they are educated, they will educate the whole family and the society. When they become very productive, they can contribute to the economy. They can fulfill themselves”, the Honourable Commissioner said.
Dr Sani, pointed out that all the needed facilities both academic and non academic has been provided added that the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni is adequately prepared for the smooth take-off of the new schools, and would leave no stone unturned towards ensuring a successful academic activities in schools.
