From James Ogunnaike, Abeokuta
The second term bid of the Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has received another boost when youths under the aegis of the National Progressive Youth, Ogun state chapter and two transport organizations expressed their support and readiness to work for the governor’s success in the 2015 general elections.
The unions, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association(RTEAN) and the youths yesterday staged a solidarity rally in support of the second term bid of Senator Amosun as the state governor in 2015.
The rally was flagged off at Oke Sokori area of Abeokuta with the solidarity train passing through Oke Ilewo down to the M.K.O International Stadium where the youth leader, Comrade Gbenga Ige, addressed the supporters.
According to him, the youths decided to support the governor because of his unprecedented achievements in the state since he emerged in 2011.
“We are going to do the job for him. We have observed, seen and conquered.
We shall do everything democratically possible to return him come next year’s general election,” Ige said.
Ige explained that the governor had transformed the state beyond human imagination, citing the road construction going on across the state as one of the achievements of Amosun.
The youths also trekked to the Oke Mosan Givernor’s office where they were received by the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Shuaib Salisu, who appealed to them to participate in the forthcoming voters’ revalidation exercise in the state.
