Ukpan also cutioned those who may be thinking of engaging in vandalism of critical infrastructure and national asset, the kidnappers, one chance syndicate and other vices within the nation’s capital during the Yuletide and beyond to desist from such act, as anybody caught in the act would be made to face the wrath of the law.
He noted that vandalism, kidnapping and one chance was a major challenges in the FCT, because over the years the nation’s capital had been experiencing cases of increased rate of vandalism and “one chance”.
According to him, as residents observe Christmas and new year celebrations,
those who may be thinking of engaging in vandalism of critical infrastructure and national assets, the kidnappers and one chance syndicate within the FCT are cautioned to desist from doing so, “because we have over 3,000 of all our operatives deployed to guard such facilities.
“ We are patrolling all the nooks and crannies on 24 hours basis, to ensure that these infrastructures that government has taken time and resources to install are protected.
“We are not going to spare anybody that we catch, we are going to properly investigate him or her and ensure that they are charged to court.”
He however charged residents to be on the alert and report any suspicious activity around them, as security of lives and property is a collective responsibility.
