Zamfara State Government through State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has commended the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science (IDMSS) for the capacity building of disaster managers in Nigeria.
State Commissioner Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hon. Fa’ika M. Ahmad made the commendation while delivering her remarks as special guest and Icon Of Excellence/ Hon. Fellow at the IDMSS/ACCPN Induction and Training onGlobal Disaster Crisis, Climate Change Perspectives at the Nigerian Army Resource Center Abuja during weekend.
The Commissioner explained that the training of the disaster managers came at a better time when the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matawalle was keenly interested in capacity building of the state government officials for better service delivery.
According to the Commissioner, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has been training its staffers with the support of the Save the Children International and now IDMSS for effective disaster management.
Hon. Fa’ika urged the participants to be good ambassadors of the Institute and work round the clock with the relevant stakeholders with a view to safeguarding humanity.
