Kaduna state Commissioner of Police, Mr Austin Iwar said the Inspector General of Police has approved the establishment of two new Divisional Police Stations in Zaria.
He made the disclosure during a courtesy visit on the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris at his palace in Zaria, Kaduna State yesterday.
The commissioner said: “As part of efforts to bring community closer to the police, the Inspector General of police has approved the establishment of two new police stations in your domain.
“We are here with the DPOs of the two divisional police stations of Dakace and Saye, the police stations have officially opened.
“About 30 personnel have been initially posted to each of these police stations to man the areas and for effective policing of your domain,” he said.
He assured that the police was looking at the possibility of opening more police stations with the approval of the IG and with the commitment and support of the palace and community leaders.
The commissioner said with the two new police stations, Kaduna state now had 46 police stations and appealed for Emirate’s support and cooperation to the new police stations to enable them achieve the desired objectives.
